Bethlehem Small Business Loan Fund

Designed for business start-up and growth, the Bethlehem Small Business Loan Fund is available to all businesses in the City.

Bethlehem Small Business Loan Fund was developed to enable economic development projects with needs for financing that cannot be met through traditional sources and can assist businesses which create or retain jobs. It is intended to be gap financing in conjunction with owner equity and other funding sources and is only available to businesses within the city limits of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Loan amounts range from $25,000 through $100,000 and funds can be used for the acquisition of property, new construction, substantial rehabilitation or expansion, some predevelopment costs (architectural, engineering and environmental services) or equipment integral to the business. Applicants may be building owners, developers or tenants of commercial, industrial, institutional, mixed-use or cultural facilities in the City.

A detailed business plan must be submitted and the borrower must create one full-time equivalent position for each $35,000 borrowed within six months of the date of the loan settlement and maintained for a period of not less than one year. Other restrictions apply.
